SPECIAL INTEREST GOING STRONG

hiiiii!! blog time again. i really wanted to write an entry today bc something super fun happened at college :D
first a slightly less interesting thing, i finished my artist board for fear & hunger. a whole day of working just to get it all done so my teacher wouldn't yell at me lol. totally worth it tho, i think it looks great...
BUT NOW THE FUN PART!! a lot of my friends at college share a special interest of mine, epic the musical (the muscial based on the hit ancient greek epic the odyssey) which i love sooooo so much like maybe a little TOO much. but it influences a lot of my creative storytelling n the music is really good and it lowkey got me interested in greek mythology. i bought hades because of epic.
but basically one of my friends had the idea to make covers of the songs from epic as a fun little project... and now i'm part of it too!!! not just as any old voice, though, no - i'm in it as odysseus himself!!!! like, the main character of the whole musical? who features in all but 4 songs as it currently stands? i'm no professional singer by any means but i do enjoy it as a slight hobby now and then, so my voice isn't too shabby... and i'm determined to do ody justice for all my parts.
an extra funny bit is that we cast my boyfriend as penelope, odysseus's wife... art imitates life, as they say. we also got on a friend whose d&d character is named calypso to voice calypso herself in love in paradise lol. not to mention how i've joked for a while that if i were a character in epic i would totally be odysseus so i guess everything comes full circle eventually --"
i tried recording a take for the first song, the horse and the infant today. ignoring the fact that my mic quality is awful AND it was too close to my face, it sounded pretty good!! i'm gonna record stuff for all of the troy saga as soon as possible probably, since we're doing the whole musical a bit at a time. super excited to sing just a man for this saga, it's probably my favourite song from troy.
i'm also super excited to sing for warrior of the mind so i can do odysseus's little stupid laugh & sing the iconic line, "so let's be honest, you are ATHENA! badass in the arena! unmatched witty and queen of the best strategies we've seen!" because it's soooo catchy. also lookin forward to my goodbye so i can engage in a diss battle with one of my friends, the underworld so i can belt my heart out & suffering so i can duet with my lovely bf basically i'm looking forward to the whole musical LOL
outside of that, i haven't been doing much lately tbh... busy busy busy w/ college work even though i really wanna work on the site! i was going to do some stuff the other day, but then i got preoccupied with more college work & playing roblox (as usual... smh)
i do need to remember i promised i'd play d&d tomorrow, though. more specifically, i promised i'd dm a oneshot session... i don't have any super specifics planned, but i do have an outline for what i want to do, so i should be alright. there won't actually be all that much fighting (if any at all) so it's not like i need to worry about combat. just on the story, a.k.a my favourite part! i hope it ends up being a good little oneshot to get me back into the swing of dming for my main campaigns.
and now, as i write this, i get hungry for icecream i gotta pop down to the freezer and grab one of the little pots we have... no more chocolate fudge brownie, but i guess cookie dough will do. better than nothing!
it's still super cold and i can't break into it properly so i'll have to leave it on the side for a min to cool.
talking about icecream has made me really miss chocolate fudge brownie... it's just so good!!!! probably right up there with mint choc chip for me with my top favourite flavours. nothing better, truly. i also think about a long lost icecream that i probably won't ever get to eat again... back when i was younger, me and my parents would go on holiday to the same place every summer. on the way home, we'd end up stopping by the same town that had a bunch of shops & this one ice cream parlour that made absolutely amazing ice cream. i used to get one specific flavour every time - the blueberry icecream! it's weird, because i don't even like blueberries, and the icecream wasn't blue, it was purple. but i remember that specific blueberry icecream being absolutely delicious and i've never seen anything like it again, so i get a little sad when i realise i can't remember exactly what it tasted like anymore and that i'll probably never eat it again. who knows if that icecream parlour is even still open?
regardless, it's a nice memory to look back on. the little things that count, y'know?
i hope more interesting stuff happens soon so i can talk about it here. i'll definitely update about my d&d oneshot and how it went, either tomorrow or the day after... we'll see when i have time! anyways, that's all for now i think. signing off!

wowee! my first ever actual blog entry on neocities!! that's real fun isn't it. i'll be honest and say there isn't really all that much i wanna talk about... i mostly just gotta get an entry down here so i can make this part of my site public LOL
i meant to do a lot more productive stuff today than i actually have... i was off college bc i've been ill today, so i thought hey, i should probably catch up on a little bit of work since i'll be missing a class. yeah that totally didn't happen. i actually spent most of the say, embarrassingly, watching youtube shorts - i am in fact greatly afflicted by the classic brainrot, although i really want to try and stop wasting all my time on shortform content. gotta get some more hobbies, yknow!
speaking of hobbies actually, i've been putting more thought into writing a fantasy book or something recently. it's one of those things that i've been on and off about for years, since committing to something like that is a big task for me and i've never been entirely confident in any of my premises before. but maybe this time will be different? i dunno, and i guess i never will til i start writing.
it's super hard figuring out what i want to do after college - since i no longer have the mega pressure of needing to go to uni, it's opened up a ton of different avenues for me. i really want to start my own business, but that'll take a lot of work. i've been looking into designing & ordering some 'prototypes' of keychains i want to sell so i can test out the quality of the company i'm considering getting them from. design wise, i want to make myself some silly halloween-themed fear & hunger keychains, probably characters from 1 & termina. d'arce hiding in a big pumpkin, vampire l'egarde, werewolf ragnvaldr and zombie daan are all pretty big contenders. only time will tell what i actually end up making, though.
aaaaaaaand now i'm thinking about halloween... it's spooky season in just 10 days! halloween is my absolute FAVOURITE holiday, to the point where i haven't taken down my decorations for at least 2 years at this point... i want to go to a store near my college and buy some more for this year soon too, since they're already selling them. my current decorations have always been a big hit with my friends when they come to visit, especially the little skeleton that dangles from a shelf near my bed. it has a weird little quirk where, if you move the leg properly, the knee can get stuck in a half-bent position (i reached up from my laptop just now to mess with it. it's stuck at almost a 90 degree angle :P) and people love to laugh at it. my own personal favourite, though, is probably the pom-pom garland my mom handmade for me 2 years ago that's strung above my bed. the black pom-poms have googly eyes and pipecleaner legs sticking out of them so they look like little spiders!! there's even one that you can spin around so sometimes i reach up above me from my bed and spin it.
with all of this said, though, i can't really think off the top of my head right now of anything more to say. stuff'll come to me eventually though, and i'll just write more entries then.
